Constable Wallop Brook

I picked this rod up at the Grayling Society Auction at the last Symposium. What a cracking little rod !!! . I am getting increasingly fond of the whole bamboo rods experience .  Perfect for this small stream.

Looks like a beautiful addition. Certainly handles the fish. Can you share any more information on that rod? I'm wading into the waters of bamboo myself right now, and love to fish waters that look similar to yours. Trying to learn about tapers and things like that, it's a lot to take in!

as you dip you toes into that area my advice would be go carefully. It is very easy to buy yourself a load of rubbish. But as you are in the USA you will find plenty of choice, in fact far more than I do over here in the UK, I have about 10 bamboo rods now , They are all good but some are better than others . My advice would be go carefully and try before you buy, As for the Wallop brook rod, its a bit of a classic and plenty written on line about it.. Tight lines

I have just found your blog... I know right.
Love the small stream fly fishing, reminds me of my child hood fly fishing with my uncle Bob and my dad in the little streams of western North Carolina and north Georgia! Never forget what my dad told me when I was about 11, "A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!"
Would love to get back into fly fishing those small streams. Nothing beats it!
